What to Expect at Your First Reiki Session in Milton Keynes

Thinking about trying Reiki but not sure what an appointment involves? Knowing a little about the visit beforehand can help you decide whether it is right for you.

I’m Penny Alterskye, and I offer Reiki appointments at ReflexologyMK in Linford Wood, Milton Keynes. Here is a practical guide to preparing for your first visit.

Do I need previous experience of Reiki?

No previous experience is needed. You are welcome to ask questions before booking, especially if you are unsure which type of session to choose. You do not need to arrive with any particular expectation or try to create a certain experience.

What should I wear?

You remain fully clothed during your Reiki session. Choose comfortable clothing that lets you settle easily. If you have any questions about comfort, positioning or access, please contact me before your appointment so we can discuss your needs.

What happens during the session?

Your appointment offers time to pause and relax while receiving Reiki. Before starting, let me know about any questions, preferences or concerns. Ask about hand positions and whether touch is involved, and tell me what you are comfortable with. You can speak up at any point if you would like something adjusted or want to stop.

Individual experiences vary. You do not need to feel a particular sensation for your experience to be valid, and no particular health or spiritual outcome is promised.

Which Reiki appointment should I choose?

If you are new to Reiki, you can start by reading about my Reiki session. I also offer Crystal Reiki and Angelic Reiki as distinct options. Crystal Reiki includes individually selected crystals, while Angelic Reiki is a spiritually focused practice within the Angelic Reiki tradition.

You do not need to book several different treatments to begin. If you are unsure, contact me and we can discuss what you are looking for before you choose.

Is Reiki a replacement for medical care?

No. Reiki is a complementary practice, not a substitute for medical or psychological assessment or treatment. It is not offered as a cure. If you have a health concern, seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional and continue any prescribed treatment.

Where is ReflexologyMK?

Appointments take place at Unit 163, Milton Keynes Business Centre, Hayley Court, Linford Wood, Milton Keynes, MK14 6GD. Please come to Unit 163, rather than the former Unit 165 address.

How do I arrange my first appointment?

All visits are by prior appointment only. Use the appointment enquiry form to ask about availability or discuss any questions. Submitting an enquiry does not confirm a booking, so please wait for your appointment to be agreed before travelling.
