Begin learning Reiki with a beginner-friendly Level 1 course at ReflexologyMK, our holistic centre in Linford Wood, Milton Keynes. Penny Alterskye combines online theory with in-person practical training, giving you time to explore the principles of Usui Reiki before practising its techniques.

Who is this course for?

No previous Reiki experience or knowledge is required. This introductory course explores self-practice and working with others, with ongoing support from Penny after your training.

Part 1: online theory

Complete approximately four hours of downloadable video learning before attending the practical day. The video introduces:

• The history and five principles of Usui Reiki
• The chakra system, anatomy and the endocrine system
• The physical and etheric bodies as discussed within Reiki teachings
• How and when Reiki is used
• Contraindications and when not to use Reiki
• Grounding and protection practices

Your download link will be emailed after purchase, so please check your email address at checkout. The video file is approximately 2.4GB and is best downloaded and viewed on a computer. You can keep the video content for future reference.

Part 2: in-person practical training

The practical day runs from 9am to 6pm at our Milton Keynes centre. It includes a theory overview, questions and answers, meditation, the Level 1 attunement process and opportunities to practise.

You will explore self-practice, Reiki hand positions and working with others on both a treatment bed and a chair.

Progressing to Reiki Level 2

After completing your case studies, you can progress to Reiki Level 2. If you plan to complete the Practitioner Diploma, speak to Penny first: both Reiki training days can count towards your in-person hours.
